Butthurt is internet jealousy, usually caused by someone not returning a follow or friendship.

What should I do if I feel butthurt?
Let it go. The person who's "wronged you" online is not the person standing before you. We've all got the reasons for the way we conduct ourselves online but the person you're looking at would really love to have a conversation and get to know you. Tweetups aren't the place to air your personal grievances.

Someone's butthurting on me at the tweetup. What do I do?
Be gentle. Butthurt is a symptom of inexperience within our community. They know not what they do and we've all been there - even if we may not have had the chance to express it in person. Take this opportunity to bring a rookie into the fold.

I think I was butthurting and now I feel bad. How do I fix this?
Buy them a drink. It's the rule.
